The building

The jobs began in 1943, one year after the contract was signed with the artists. The Architect Alejandro Bustillo didn’t participate in the management and execution of the Works. The building had a good beat at the first two years, but soon appeared problems with the provision of materials that made extend the terms of the ending. The economic problems reappeared after and the work would continue slowly thanks to the efforts, perseverance and dedication of its directorthe Architect Ángel Guido. Only concluded 14 years later.

The following series of photos shows some of the work steps. At the beginning, the time limit of two years seemed likely to be fulfilled, then the cost issues were those that led to the detention on the progress of the work. The overpricing caused by inflation of those times made that the companies contracted for the work requested continuous adjustments.
